This abstract examines the many aspects of this contentious issue, looking at the moral dilemmas, scientific developments, and societal ramifications of genetic engineering in humans. While proponents of genetic enhancement contend that it may have advantages over disease prevention, better health outcomes, and enhanced cognitive abilities, detractors point out that it may also worsen social inequality, support eugenic ideologies, and violate people’s right to autonomy and dignity. Furthermore, the “designer baby” concept is severely hampered by the complexity of biology and the limitations of existing genetic editing tools. The promise of genetic enhancement notwithstanding, navigating the ethical, legal, and societal ramifications of this transformative technology requires ethical frameworks, regulatory monitoring, and public discourse. In order to establish responsible policies and practices that protect human values and support the equitable and ethical use of genetic engineering in the pursuit of improving human health and well-being, this abstract’s conclusion emphasizes the significance of inclusive and educated discourse among stakeholders.
