Women’s right to vote in elections is known as women’s suffrage. During the 1800s, there was a widespread belief that women were not allowed to possess property and that they had to submit to their husbands for all financial support. They were therefore prohibited from voting based on such factors.
Beginning in the early 1800s, women and other activists began to voice their concerns about women’s suffrage. Later, a few political groups would allow women to vote. To demand greater education, the ability to vote, and to be considered as people rather than dependent on men, women established a movement against that. They want the ability to manage the office, speak in front of everyone, and have more jobs. Women demand their rights, both political and civil.
In 19th amendment legally guarantees women right to vote.
