Dr. Shraddha Verma
Dean, Faculty of Education
Kalinga University.
Empowering teachers with digital skills is essential to enhancing educational outcomes. Research indicates that teachers who are skilled in using digital tools can significantly improve student engagement and learning results (Hamzah et al., 2020). Through professional development initiatives, we help teachers build expertise in digital literacy and new educational technologies (OECD, 2019) A modern curriculum must be adaptable to equip students with essential skills like critical thinking and problem-solving. Studies underscore the value of project-based and interdisciplinary learning for developing these competencies (Barron & Darling-Hammond, 2008). Following the National Education Policy 2020’s competency-based model, our curriculum emphasizes applied knowledge and comprehensive development. Our faculty’s attitude is centered on research and teamwork. We can investigate novel concepts and add to more general educational conversations by collaborating with organizations both domestically and internationally. UNESCO claims that collaborative research promotes educational innovation and improves pedagogical methods (UNESCO, 2020) This is in line with global frameworks such as the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations (UN, 2015). By creating outreach programs and digital resources, we bring education to underserved and rural communities.
Conclusion
Education has the power to drive change, and the Faculty of Education is dedicated to building a teaching community that’s equipped to innovate, include, and inspire. By prioritizing digital competencies, curriculum advancement, research, and inclusivity, we are laying a foundation for adaptable, ethical leaders ready to face the challenges of tomorrow.
