As a Stress Reliever, Gardening

As a Stress Reliever, Gardening

Dr. Preeti Pandey

Faculty of Chemistry

Gardening has existed for as long as humans have been able to cultivate food. Gardens have long been used not only as locations to raise plants, but also as places for people to relax, concentrate, and interact with nature and one another. Gardening can now deliver a variety of mental health benefits in your everyday life. Gardening can help with a variety of mental health issues, including attention and concentration, and positively enhances one’s mood. Gardening might help you feel more at ease and fulfilled. Many people find that simply being in the presence of plants reduces their stress levels.

We asked educators how they take care of their health in our annual reader poll, and many stated they spend time in their gardens to relieve stress and improve their general health. Wellbeing by Teacher is dedicated to enhancing the lives of teachers and school leaders by providing them with helpful, evidence-based solutions for caring for their bodies, minds, and general well-being. In today’s article, we’ll look at the physical and mental health benefits of gardening, as well as why it’s been shown that spending time in the garden may help you relax.

It’s National Nutrition Month, so now is an excellent opportunity to assess how you’ve been fuelling your body. You might want to consider growing your garden if one of the changes you’ve decided to make is to consume more fruits and veggies. Not only might this decision help you lose weight, but it could also help you improve your mental health.

Our annual survey asked educators how they take care of their mental peace, sadness and many said they spent time in their gardens to relieve stress and improve their overall health. The mission of Wellbeing by Teacher is to improve the lives of teachers and school leaders by providing them with practical, evidence-based solutions for caring for their bodies, minds, and overall well-being. We’ll look at the physical and mental health benefits of gardening in today’s posts, as well as why spending time in the garden has been proved to help people relax.

Because it’s National Nutrition Month, now is a great time to evaluate how you’ve been fuelling your body. If one of the changes you’ve decided to make is to eat more fruits and vegetables, you might want to consider starting your garden. This selection may not only assist you in losing weight, but it may also assist you in gaining weight.
