An interview is a short discussion to gauge you if you have the required expertise for a job. Questions are asked about your personality, interests, academics and professional experiences. It gives the employer a chance to know you in person and assess your suitability on the basis of your personality traits such as your aptitude, attitude, behaviour, expression and confidence.
Apart from knowing your personal suitability for the job, the interview also verifies the genuineness of your credentials & knowledge that is mentioned in your CV. Keeping in view all these areas of assessment, you have to prove yourself as the best candidate for the position.
Guidelines for a successful interview are as follows:
1.Prepare and practice:
You will be asked about your personality, interests, academics and expertise. Be prepared which type of questions can be asked about each of those areas. Prepare a list of question for each area and devise inspiring answer for each. You will be asked various areas in your academic and practical learning.
Similarly, if you have mentioned work any experience in your CV, you will be asked about your practical learning in this area.

One of the common questions asked in every interview is to introduce yourself in a few lines. Prepare a short comprehensive introduction for yourself using interesting lines.
5.Your first impression: You will be called in for interview. Entering the room, greet the panel with a smiling face to have a good impression on them. During the interview remain moderate, neither too serious to look rude nor too informal to look funny.
6.Dress up well and be on time:
Be in a proper get-up for interview. It adds to your personality. Plan what to wear for interview. Your dress should be simple but clean and decent having no wrinkles on it.
Reach the venue of interview an hour earlier than the prescribed time. It will be a new place, so you would need a few minutes to relax. Interact with other applicants or general staff to feel more acquainted and relaxed.

Do not look down to the floor or up to the ceiling while talking or listening to interviewer. Maintain a proper eye contact with the interviewer during the interview.

Be enthusiastic and lively during the interview. You words should have a fine (not over the top) energy in them. Also try show that you are highly ambitious about the job by expressing your devotion towards it.
