“Good research is not about finding the answer you’re looking for; it’s about asking the right question.”- Mari Jana Zavadskas
The young minds are naturally curious about the world around them. Asking questions allows them to explore their curiosity, understand things they don’t know, and to process new information .When something piques your interest, a question pops into your head. This curiosity becomes the seed for research. You might wonder “how,” “why,” or “what if ” about a topic. In 1820, Danish scientist Hans Christian Oersted discovered that an electric current could develop a magnetic field. This sparked Faraday’s curiosity about the reverse phenomenon: could magnetism produce electricity? For ten years, Faraday conducted numerous experiments to test his hypothesis. Initial attempts yielded weak currents, but Faraday persisted. He meticulously recorded his observations, analyzed failures, and refined his experiments. Michael Faraday did not receive a formal scientific degree in the traditional sense, but his curiosity and aptitude for research rendered him as one of the top revered scientists of all time.
Conducting research enables a student to keep trying in the face of failure, being disciplined and ambitious towards their goal, which can be certainly deemed as the aspect of the process of education.
