UNLEASHING THE POTENTIAL OF WORKSHOP-BASED LEARNING

“Tell me and I’ll forget; show me and I may remember; involve me and I’ll understand.” –Confucius

A B.Ed. student, or Bachelor of Education student, is primarily preparing for a career in Educating. One while teaching courses helps strengthen the educational theory, but workshops offer practical application hence creating a delicate and fine combination of theoretical and life based skills, something which can be deemed as the making of a bona-fide educator. Students can experiment with teaching methods, design lesson plans, and use interactive activities—all in a safe and supportive environment. Workshops can be a breeding ground for creative ideas. Experimenting with different approaches in a workshop setting allows B.Ed. students to develop their own unique teaching style. Also hands-on experience and positive feedback in workshops can significantly boost a B.Ed. student’s confidence in their teaching abilities. The workshops also serve as an excellent platform for peer-communication and exchange of notions. Participating in workshops render B.Ed. students into well-equipped, confident mentors from just a learner mugging up theories
