Overcome Your Fears

One day in my school it was accounted that there will be a story narration competition. I wrote the story and learned it well. On the day of the competition, I went with a good positive mind, but when it began, I went nervous and suddenly everything got vanished from my mind. This shows that fear spoils everything.

As we all know that fear is the most powerful emotion. It has a very strong effect on our minds and body. It can strong signal of response when we are in an emergency- for instance- if we are caught in a fire or are being attached.

Well! There are a lot of things which make us afraid, like a fire, thunderstorm, a stranger at our door, a visit to a dentist, losing someone dear to you, exams, public speaking and so on.

What happens when we had done a mistake and try to hide it? Well, our mind starts feeling uneasy and uncomfortable, but when we reveal the truth to someone it lightens the burden of our mind.

To overcome my fears when I am afraid, I used to sing a song, meditate or do prayers. So that my mind gets distracted by some other work and would stop me from thinking about the thing I am afraid of.

There are so many ways through which we can overcome our fears are as using our brain in a different way than usual, exercising or doing yoga, thinking positively or creating something of our imagination, and doing some works like planting a tree, cooking, reading a book and many more.

Try going for a walk outside, viewing the natural beauty found in parks, backyards, or anywhere you find greenery will help us feel better. Also, the physical activity of walking or jogging outdoors helps not just our brain but always our body fit and healthy. These things cause a switch from fearful thoughts to clearer thinking that can help overcome our fears.

A brilliant man and a great scientist APJ Abdul Kalam said “in this world fear has no place only strength respects strength”

The Olympic gold medallist of Tokyo 2020 Neeraj Chopra described the secret to overcome from fear- in an interview, he was asked about the same and he answered “I always focused on the goals, doing hard work, well practicing and giving my 100 percent and by putting my total effort in the event, also by never thinking what would happen next, only concentrating, being positive and being fearless”. He gave three mantras to overcome with your fear, “first do hard work and keep practicing, second faith on yourself and not pressuring your mind, third staying cool and put full efforts”.

Once we stop fearing fear, we will have a sense of freedom in all that we do. We all must have noticed that all the freedom fighters were fearless all well as courageous. They did not have any fear of losing their lives. Whether it be Subhash Chandra Bose, Rani Lakshmi Bhai, Mahatma Gandhi, Bhagat Singh, and many more.

Early humans needed the fast powerful responses that fear causes as they were often in situations of physical danger. However, in modern-day living despite this, our mind and body still work in the same way as our early ancestors, and we have the same reaction to our modern worries about bills, travel, and social situation.
