Building computers that are able to carry out tasks that normally require human intelligence is the goal of artificial intelligence (AI), a broad field of computer science. AI in introducing many alterations in various industries as computers are now operated in almost all fields.

With the use of artificial intelligence, machines can now match or even surpass human mental capacity. Artificial intelligence suffuses routine life of almost all individuals. Starting from personalized shopping to usage of AI tools for daily work, AI has become an inseparable component in any individuals life.

AI has captured many areas where human intelligence was required previously. Application of AI is seen in commerce industry, education, navigation, human resource, healthcare, agriculture, gaming, automobile, social media, finance sector etc.

AI was definitely built with the intention to help and enhance activities which are complicated for humans to perform. There are many aspects in which invention of AI has proved to be an aid for human beings. Personalized shopping, identifying threats or frauds, creating smart content, voice assistant, facial recognition, robotics, self-driving vehicles, marketing, Chabot, astronomy, cyber security and many applications are aided with AI.

While AI has many benefits, still it draws some of the disadvantages. It is no minor achievement to build a machine that can mimic human intelligence. It can be very expensive and takes a lot of time and resources. AI is very expensive since it requires the newest hardware and software to function and stay updated with requirements. The inability of AI to think creatively is one of its main drawbacks. AI cannot be innovative in its approach, but it can learn over time using pre-fed facts and past experiences. A robot is one example of an artificial intelligence application, which is eliminating jobs and raising unemployment. Monotonous works can be operated by AI soft wares. We tend to engage our brains less and less because we do not need to memorize information or solve puzzles to complete tasks. Later generations will face issues as a result of AI dependency.

AI is threat or aid is the question raised by many but the answer is not in black or white. It depends on the interaction of AI with humans and its usage methodology via different technologies. If the interaction is dominated by humans and can be dealt in a way that it is supporting in solving problems, it will work as an aid, but if the interaction is eating up human space, make people lazier or breach privacy then it will became a threat which needs attention on immediate basis otherwise future generations will get affected.
