Personal grooming refers to an art which helps individuals to clean and maintain their body parts. Human beings need to wash, clean their body parts to look good and for personal hygiene as well. Personal grooming helps in enhancing an individual’s self esteem and also goes a long way in developing an attractive personality. Every individual irrespective of gender should look clean, fresh and hygienic.

Here are a few tips on personal grooming:

  • Face: Your face is the first point of contact when you meet someone. You do not need makeup (girls) to make a good impression. Just keep your nostrils clean, your eyes crust-free, eyebrows trimmed and try avoiding unwanted facial hair.
  • Oral/Teeth: Ensure your teeth are brushed on a regular basis (twice a day for 2 minutes each time); ensure no food is stuck in between your teeth which looks unappealing. and your breath is fresh and clean…and smile.
  • Skin: As a general rule, keep your skin clean and dry. Not sweaty or sticky. Use good skin products to keep your skin refreshed.
  • Hair: Again, clean and dry. Also, keep a tidy hairstyle. Keep your hair detangled by combing it regularly.
  • Nails/Hands: Keep your hands clean. Cut your nails short and keep them dirt free. Make sure to wash your hands before & after every meal. Do not wear unnecessary rings, bracelets, multiple chains or earrings.
  • Feet: Avoid cracked heels, dirty toenails and smelly socks. If you tend to sweat too much through your feet, put some baby powder in your shoes before wearing them. It won’t do any changes to your appearance, but it will definitely help you not feel self-conscious about your sweaty feet.
  • Clothes: wear well-fitting clothes and comfortable, always wear for your size and not the size you want to be.
  • Shoes: Wear shoes that don’t make you limp or drag your feet. Also, wear shoes according to your age and the occasion. They should be clean and if leather shoes, keep the polished on a regular basis.
  • Belt: Wear leather belts, preferably which go with the colour of your trouser.
  • Hydrate yourself: Drink at least 8 Glasses (two litres) of water daily to not only maintain the glow on your face, but also as a health benefits like good for your immunity, improves digestion, boosts your metabolism, etc.
  • Exercise: Exercising regularly keeps you fit and also enhances your self confidence. Develop a habit of getting up early in the morning and going for a walk.
