PREBIOTICS:


Are the biotic bacteria that are involved in destroying the intestinal bacteria? As a result, Prebiotic are
non-ingestible food elements with more benefits to the host by selectively encouraging the growth in the
colon area and improving the host health, reducing the risk of cholesterol in various organs and also
reducing the risk of diarrheal diseases in improving the immunity of the host. Examples are classified as
carbohydrates and some long chain FOS and insulin as dietary supplements. By this in 2008, the
international Scientific Association of Probiotics and Prebiotics (ISAPP) revised the definition of dietary
supplements as the selectively the fermented ingredients which causes a specific variation in composition
in /or activity of the GIT microbes can give good result by balancing the health of microbes in intestine.
While coming to probiotics they play a good role in keeping body healthy that’s why it is said that “Good
bacteria keeps a good health” such bacteria can be as Lactobacillus acidophilus and Bifidobacterium
bifidum this all increases the microbial spectrum in the gut and help in reducing cancer in colon, lowering
absorption of cholesterol etc. Yogurt, kefir, kombucha, pickles, sourdough bread, and various cheeses are
some certain examples of naturally containing these microbes.
Overall conclusion is that probiotics and prebiotics are both benefit for health but prebiotics are food for
this bacteria while eating foods or dietary compounds are helping in balancing the gut microbiota and
increasing the healthy life.
