THE POLITICAL AGENDA

It summer in the air and the temperature is soaring higher and higher each day. Moreover the mercury hyper not only due to summer heat but it is the election fever also which is raising the temperature. The voting day is approaching and all political parties are assuring 110percent of development, education, employment and many such dreams that remained unfulfilled since India became independent. Since that time the prime concern of the government was poverty eradication but since then poverty has been continuing as a big issue till date for the country. However government and non-government institutions have executed numerous plans to eradicate poverty and most of them are plans that offer things free. From that time a class has developed in the country called the “free class” as they get all things free right from education, ration, housing, food and even capital to launch their small business, still poverty is existing in the country and people say “we are poor class”. So what exactly is the definition of poverty, is it the idea of being poor in a true sense or just a comparison with the higher class for the facilities they have and poor do not? Secondly the issues that started right from 1947 are still existing today, so what is the extent of work done for these issues or not done. Because either the work has been done, then these issues should not repeat and if it has not been done then these issues are constantly lying as the biggest political agenda till date for all political parties. New issues do not come up …but older issues are still same. Is this political agenda going to last forever? Are they eternal issues walking head to head till the country exists and humanity survives, are they strategies and mental games to be played forever?
